CVE-2025-1118 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230447 with Medium Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - A flaw was found in grub2. Grub's dump command is not blocked when grub is in lockdown mode, which allows the user to read any memory information, and an attacker may leverage this in order to extract signatures, salts, and other sensitive information from the memory. (CVE-2025-1118)Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.
Solution
There is no known solution at this time.

CVE-2024-56671 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230448 with Medium Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: gpio: graniterapids: Fix vGPIO driver crash Move setting irq_chip.name from probe() function to the initialization of irq_chip struct in order to fix vGPIO driver crash during bootup. Crash was caused by unauthorized modification of irq_chip.name field where irq_chip struct was initialized as const. This behavior is a consequence of suboptimal implementation of gpio_irq_chip_set_chip(), which should be changed to avoid casting away const qualifier. Crash log: BUG: unable to handle page fault for address: ffffffffc0ba81c0 /#PF: supervisor write access in kernel mode /#PF: error_code(0x0003) - permissions violation CPU: 33 UID: 0 PID: 1075 Comm: systemd-udevd Not tainted 6.12.0-rc6-00077-g2e1b3cc9d7f7 #1 Hardware name: Intel Corporation Kaseyville RP/Kaseyville RP, BIOS KVLDCRB1.PGS.0026.D73.2410081258 10/08/2024 RIP: 0010:gnr_gpio_probe+0x171/0x220 [gpio_graniterapids] (CVE-2024-56671)Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

CVE-2024-50169 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230449 with Medium Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: vsock: Update rx_bytes on read_skb() Make sure virtio_transport_inc_rx_pkt() and virtio_transport_dec_rx_pkt() calls are balanced (i.e. virtio_vsock_sock::rx_bytes doesn't lie) after vsock_transport::read_skb(). While here, also inform the peer that we've freed up space and it has more credit. Failing to update rx_bytes after packet is dequeued leads to a warning on SOCK_STREAM recv(): [ 233.396654] rx_queue is empty, but rx_bytes is non-zero [ 233.396702] WARNING: CPU: 11 PID: 40601 at net/vmw_vsock/virtio_transport_common.c:589 (CVE-2024-50169)Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

CVE-2024-58002 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230450 with High Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: media: uvcvideo: Remove dangling pointers When an async control is written, we copy a pointer to the file handle that started the operation. That pointer will be used when the device is done. Which could be anytime in the future. If the user closes that file descriptor, its structure will be freed, and there will be one dangling pointer per pending async control, that the driver will try to use. Clean all the dangling pointers during release(). To avoid adding a performance penalty in the most common case (no async operation), a counter has been introduced with some logic to make sure that it is properly handled. (CVE-2024-58002)Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

CVE-2025-21739 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230451 with High Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: scsi: ufs: core: Fix use-after free in init error and remove paths devm_blk_crypto_profile_init() registers a cleanup handler to run when the associated (platform-) device is being released. For UFS, the crypto private data and pointers are stored as part of the ufs_hba's data structure 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This structure is allocated as part of the underlying ufshcd and therefore Scsi_host allocation. During driver release or during error handling in ufshcd_pltfrm_init(), this structure is released as part of ufshcd_dealloc_host() before the (platform-) device associated with the crypto call above is released. Once this device is released, the crypto cleanup code will run, using the just-released 'struct ufs_hba::crypto_profile'. This causes a use- after-free situation: Call trace: kfree+0x60/0x2d8 (P) kvfree+0x44/0x60 blk_crypto_profile_destroy_callback+0x28/0x70 devm_action_release+0x1c/0x30 release_nodes+0x6c/0x108 devres_release_all+0x98/0x100 device_unbind_cleanup+0x20/0x70 really_probe+0x218/0x2d0 ...

CVE-2024-50032 |
Description:
Nessus Plugin ID 230452 with Medium Severity
Synopsis
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.
Description
The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available. - In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rcu/nocb: Fix rcuog wake-up from offline softirq After a CPU has set itself offline and before it eventually calls rcutree_report_cpu_dead(), there are still opportunities for callbacks to be enqueued, for example from a softirq. When that happens on NOCB, the rcuog wake-up is deferred through an IPI to an online CPU in order not to call into the scheduler and risk arming the RT-bandwidth after hrtimers have been migrated out and disabled. But performing a synchronized IPI from a softirq is buggy as reported in the following scenario: WARNING: CPU: 1 PID: 26 at kernel/smp.c:633 smp_call_function_single Modules linked in: rcutorture torture CPU: 1 UID: 0 PID: 26 Comm: migration/1 Not tainted 6.11.0-rc1-00012-g9139f93209d1 #1 Stopper: multi_cpu_stop+0x0/0x320 <- __stop_cpus+0xd0/0x120 RIP: 0010:smp_call_function_single swake_up_one_online __call_rcu_nocb_wake __call_rcu_common ? rcu_torture_one_read call_timer_fn __run_timers run_timer_softirq handle_softirqs irq_exit_rcu ? tick_handle_periodic sysvec_apic_timer_int...
