Our Story
Ryan Dewhurst, a seasoned expert in cybersecurity, has a track record of building impactful tools that empower the security community. Early in his career, Ryan founded Damn Vulnerable Web Application (DVWA), an educational platform that has since become a cornerstone for learning about web application security. Later, he founded WPScan, a WordPress security tool that grew into a thriving business, protecting millions of websites from vulnerabilities.
While working in Threat and Vulnerability Management, he observed a persistent problem: existing solutions for threat intelligence were either too expensive for smaller organizations or generated too much noise, making it difficult for teams to focus on actionable threats.
Ryan envisioned a new kind of solution—one that would bridge the gap between accessibility and effectiveness. CyberAlerts was born from this vision: a platform designed to provide affordable, real-time alerts as soon as vulnerabilities and threats began to surface online. Combining Ryan's deep understanding of security challenges and his passion for creating practical tools, CyberAlerts focuses on delivering relevant, timely intelligence while cutting down on the noise.
